Discover the intriguing history of the Quran and its missing verses. This article explores the claims of Quran's perfect preservation and questions the authenticity of its present form.

Is The Quran Really Perfectly Preserved?

According to Muslim belief, the Quran is a book that’s been perfectly preserved. However, numerous historical accounts suggest otherwise. For instance, Ibn Umar, a companion of Muhammad, declared that much of the Quran has been lost. Even Aisha, Muhammad’s wife, stated that Surah 33 used to contain 200 verses, but only 73 verses are present today. This raises critical questions about the perfect preservation of the Quran.

The Quran’s Missing Verses

Notably, Uba Ibin Qab, the master of the Quran, stated that Surah 33 used to be as long as Surah two, which is 286 verses long. However, the current Quran only contains 73 verses of Surah 33. This suggests that more than 200 verses have been lost from a single chapter of the Quran. The Quran, in its current form, seems to have all the features of a book that’s been changed and corrupted.

Question… What do you call a book that’s missing hundreds of verses perfectly preserved.
At least that’s the answer I get from my Muslim friends.
Yesterday we read a passage from Kitab Fada’il-al-Qur’an , where Ibn Umar, one of Muhammad’s companions, admitted that much of the Koran has been lost.
Ibn Umar declared to Muslims.
Let none of you say, I have learned the whole of the Koran for how does he know what the whole of it is, when much of it has disappeared?
Let him rather say, I have learned what is ex extent thereof.
That is, I’ve only learned what has survived.
Abu Ubaid then goes on to give a bunch of examples of missing verses, missing passages and missing chapters.
Let’s read what the first generation of Muslims said about the perfect preservation of Surah. thirty-three of the Koran Ibn Abi Maryam related to us from Ibn Luhai’a, from Abu’l-Aswad, from Urwa b az-Zubair from Aisha, who said Surat al Ahzab.

Surah thirty-three used to be recited in the time of the prophet with two hundred verses, but when Uthman wrote out the codices, he was unable to procure more of it. Than there is in it today.
So according to Mohammed’s wife, Ayisha, the mother of the Faithful Surah thirty-three used to be recited with two hundred verses.
But when the Khaliph Uthman decided to distribute some written copies of the Koran, Muslims could only find what’s in the chapter today, surah thirty-three of the Quran we have today contains seventy-three verses.
Now if Surah thirty-three originally contained two hundred verses, but in today’s Quran it only contains seventy-three verses how many verses are missing from Surah thirty-three .
According to Aisha, one hundred and twenty seven verses are missing from surah thirty-three of the perfectly and miraculously preserved Koran.
But it gets worse because Aisha was apparently rounding down when she said that Surah thirty-three used to contain two hundred verses.
Isma’il b Ibrahim and Isma’il b, Ja’far related to us from Mubarak b Fadala, from as Abi’n Nujud, from Zirr B Hubiah I, who said, Ubai B Ka’b said to me, how many verses did you count, or how many verses did you read? Surat al Ahzab?
Seventy two or Seventy three I answered, said he Yet it used to be equal to Sur Albakra, surah two, and we used to read in it the verse of Stoning said I, and what is the verse of stoning?
He said, if a grown man and woman commit adultery, stone them without hesitation as a warning from Allah, for Allah is mighty wise.
According to Uba Ibn Qad’ Surah thirty-three used to be as long as Surah two.

But who was Uba Ibin Qab` that we should listen to him?
Uba is not some average Sahabi.
He’s the “ari” of the Koran.
He is the master.
Uba was the master of the Koran, and Uba said that Surah thirty-three used to be as long as Surah two.
Surah two of the Koran is two hundred eighty-six verses long.
Now, surah thirty-three used to contain somewhere around two hundred eighty-six verses, but now it contains only seventy-three verses.
We can say that according to Uba Ibin Qab` the master, more than two hundred verses were lost from a single chapter of the Quran.
How will our Muslim friends respond?
Oh, well, those two hundred plus verses were all abrogated.
Have you noticed that the Quran has all of the features of a book that’s been changed and corrupted, but Muslims make up reasons for all of the changes and corruptions, and then say that it’s been perfectly preserved.
The Quran we have today is missing entire chapters and hundreds of verses.
Why is that?
Oh, because the missing chapters and verses were abrogated.
What if the Quran we have today contains things that were missing in earlier Qurans?
For instance, Mohammad’s companion Ibin Masood only had one hundred eleven chapters in his Quran.
He said that three chapters that are in today’s Quran aren’t supposed to be in there.
So what happens when things get added?
Oh, whoever left out something that’s in today’s Quran simply made a mistake.
Ibin Masood was wrong.
Well, what if we put two of today’s Qurans side by side and we see that there are different Arabic words with different Arabic meanings?

Oh, that’s because the Quran was revealed in a bunch of different ways, but these different readings compliment one another.
All of the different versions are from Allah.
Notice what Muslims are saying.
They’re saying that the Koran has all of the features of a book that’s been changed and corrupted, and yet it’s been miraculously preserved by the great God Allah.
But this raises an obvious question.
If the preservation of the Koran is a miracle, and yet the Quran has all of the features of a book that’s been changed and corrupted, how are we supposed to identify the miracle?
What’s the miracle here?
Our Muslim friends say the Quran is different from other books. It’s been perfectly preserved, and yet the Quran has all of the features of all the other books that have been changed and corrupted things, added things taken away, different words in different versions.

If this is a miracle.
It’s the stupidest miracle ever.
Muslims are basically telling us that Allah said, you know what?
I’m going to perform a miracle.
I’m going to make the Quran look exactly like it’s been changed and corrupted, even though it’s been perfectly preserved.
Muslims claim, without presenting concrete evidence, that the Bible and the Torah have been altered.
How could it be feasible to modify every copy globally in a uniform manner?
Have you encountered any historical data substantiating this process?

I suspect you haven’t encountered any such evidence.
However, when we analyze the Quran and Hadith along with manuscript comparisons, alterations in the Quran are clearly visible.
Presently, there are twenty-six distinct versions of the Quran that are in use globally, a fact that many refuse to acknowledge.
It is essential to think critically and not blindly accept misinformation that has been circulated about Christians and Jews.
Additionally, it is worth noting the discrepancies between various translations, versions of the Quran and the original Arabic text is a form of corruption too of your book.
Who you choose to believe is ultimately up to you.
